Art. Fashion. Inspiration

Crafty times…Last weekend I participated in the Worcester Mayfair / over 50 artists sold their goods and took part of this celebration of art, music, food and fun…Recently reopened, the Worcester Arts and Crafts Center offers amazing crafts education, celebrates and promotes fine arts in the community.

Three days full of inspiration, kai and gipsy fashion and fun! Discovered that I could own every piece of Monique Rancourt’s Jewelry…her rocker chic style is the perfect accessory for kai and gipsy wear! Already owner of a few pieces, I had to invest in an amazing teeth necklace…Beautiful belated Mother’s Day present!

Shom Thoughts

Always wanted to go to a yoga retreat. After the New Year I went to my hot yoga class and the instructor, Deborah Jaishree Spielman, announced a weekend retreat with YhomYoga in Chester, CT. I am thinking it’s perfect / local, not too long (in case I don’t make it…) and it supports my New Year resolution, “invest less in retail and much more in experience…”! She also recommended the movie, Avatar, which I went to see the next day and loved it. The Avatar message and Deb’s practice sold my yoga experience!

So there I was two weeks ago in Chester, CT with seventeen strangers sharing, seeing, chanting, dancing, tasting and feeling the Prem. The weekend was amazing, full of intense energy, wonders and feeling closer…Here are a few thoughts, after one of the meditations lights were out and I just wrote:

“Happy. I am here. Pictures. People. Beautiful energy. Anxious to open up to the Universe. I can feel, move with the sound, it is vibrating my soul. I can see, feel, tears of happy. The mood, light, food / engaging all senses. Love the flowers. Deb is so alive, present, inspiring. Her eyes radiate. Everybody feeds of her presence and spirit. It is refreshing to be a part of this. Her voice reaches deep, words make you explore the moment. It’s been a beautiful journey of discovery.”

Exploring…

The Guest House

This being human is a guest house.
Every morning a new arrival.

A joy, a depression, a meanness,
some momentary awareness comes
as an unexpected visitor.

Welcome and entertain them all!
Even if they are a crowd of sorrows,
who violently sweep your house
empty of its furniture,
still, treat each guest honorably.
He may be clearing you out
for some new delight.

The dark thought, the shame, the malice.
meet them at the door laughing and invite them in.

Be grateful for whatever comes.
because each has been sent
as a guide from beyond.

Kai and Gipsy Bag Check

What’s in your travel bag? A week ago I was sitting on the plane trying to distract from a bumpy ride back to Boston, MA from Atlanta, GA. I started thinking about kai and gipsy, my travel bag, life etc.

As a traveling spirit, kai and gipsy wear is meant to see the world…the Gipsy Wrap is a favorite for the plane ride, it gives you an extra layer of comfort and fashion. It is also light enough that it will pack in your carry on and/or hand bag! Another on the plane friend is the Extraordinary Burnout, you will travel in fun and find some inspiration for those inevitable bumpy rides…And yes, we are still trying to find a smooth ride!

KaiSpice in Alternative Apparel / The Gipsy Wrap

On location you must bring the kai and gipsy tank tops. They are more than just a tank, they have a sexy urban look and athletic fit which makes them versatile, the perfect day and night wear. Accessorize them for an eve out, layer them on a cool day and wear them casually site seeing, exploring or taking an adventure trip.

In my bag:
Laptop
Illusions / The Adventures of a Reluctant Messiah
Running shoes
Camera
iPod
Water
Dance Short Sleeve and Tank Top, Extraordinary Hoodie
Boots
iPhone

Finally descending into Boston, safely I hope! Regardless of this flying experience I love to travel and one of my favorite moments is take off! On my 2010 Just Do List is to one day go to the airport, pick a random flight and destination. Blog material for sure!

Drums Alive Kai and Gipsy Style

People walk by and stop. They stare through the window, hear the drum beats and watch us go nuts! I am sure they wish they had sticks and a ball! Drums Alive rocks and makes you feel like a rock star…It is an hour of 100% natural high!
